Emily LaRosa

Emily LaRosa’s research focuses on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Societal Trust, looking at the impacts of a multitude of classes of autonomous systems on different communities. LaRosa has worked on a number of issues, from algorithmicbiases and their impact in Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems, to the question of continuing doctor-patient trust dynamics as autonomous care systems are deployed. Presently, as AI becomes pervasive in farming practices, LaRosa focuses on ethical questions raised by AI deployment in rural environments, and explores the dynamics between technologists, deployers and agricultural communities.
